All considered, probably the best selling point of Euphoria is that it
inspires innovative and creative programming. The language gives so
much freedom to create, that one should have no excuses when it comes to
providing software that evidences its full capabilities. In particular
I'm thinking of how tasks which in other languages are considered too
time-consuming, can be programmed in machine code, and made coherent and
integral parts of the whole program, whereas in other languages it would
be so complicated to implement that it never gets done. We need to be
really informed of the challenges facing the programming community in
its everyday affairs, so that we may take up these and other discarded
projects and show how simple and effective their solution is in
Euphoria. Probably we can all mention ideas of projects which we
thought would be better done in Euphoria, and it would be a good idea to
keep track of these as we may soon find ourselves not only wanting to do
them but been asked for them.

2. RE: Any DDJ articles on Eu?

Well, the "multiple submissions" idea does make sense (and truth be
told, I actually enjoy technical writing.) I think I'll try to piece
something together.

I've been quite busy lately though, and have hardly touched any code.
I'll probably finally download and play with Eu 2.3 to get versed on the
latest features (and benchmarks, heh!), but does anyone have any points
that you feel should be specifically drawn attention too (besides the
obvious, "hyped" ones like garbage collection, etc.)? Or, any points or
features that more mainstream languages tend to have yet which Eu lacks?
(For example, I've not really had a need for complex error-handling with
Eu--type-checking and abort() usually work fine. But maybe it's lack is
something that should be explained?)
