I downloaded the newest eunet, and discovered this in two tests runs.... [14:50] <katsmeow-afk> olycarp [14:50] <katsmeow-afk> i ran test in eunet.e , and it got me yahoo cussed bloody fast [14:55] <katsmeow-afk> ok, found a bug [14:55] <katsmeow-afk> in eunet [14:56] <katsmeow-afk> this fails: str = eunet_get_url("http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/south_asia/5409358.stm") [14:56] <katsmeow-afk> but wget.exe got me the page : /2/low/south_asia/5409358.stm <done><2008/04/29 14:20> And the page is stored properly for me to read. The eunet page is BBC's custom 404 page. FireFox gets the page correctly, so it's still there. Kat

I've entered this in the Sourceforge bug tracker for eunet as issue #1954558. I'll take a look tomorrow to see if it's something simple. Wait, when I copied the text from EuForum, it included the anchor tag. I'll assume that's just from EuForum and not part of your test run. If you did in fact include the anchor tag in your test, could you try it without (IOW just the URL) and see if you get better results from that? That might not be a bad idea for an enhancement anyway - to parse out the URL from an href attribute. I'll still run a trace tomorrow either way.

I did not include any html tags such as "<a href=" when i posted, nor did i try to use eunet to fetch such a thing. I do not know why euphorum wraps such urls to make them hot. I also tried substituting %5F for the '_', but that may have been unnecessary since i saw you have an example that has a '_' in the url. Didn't work either way. It is impressively fast returning data tho, even if it is the site's 404 page! Kat

The entire post is there if you view the page in a text editor. Lets go back to plain text email! Kat

If a less_than sign is inside a string and has no match inside that string, it gets included as is in the html in the forum. As it started an href anchor, it made all that was left on the page a hot link. CChris
