Hello, Does anyone know of a shareware or freeware paint program that will save images in GIF format (or at least a format that I can use on my website)? I am thinking of adding images to my webpage; especially my Balenfaire page. Also I am interested in a 3D graphics utility for my game and both of these would need to be small anough to fit on a disk so I can take it home from work. (the second is less important.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Lewis Townsend LewisArt Software or something ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Java VRML) you might like RenderSoft http://home.pacific.net.sg/~jupboo It will fit on one disk and the price is right ($15) It has 3-D modeling with adjustable light sources, and can save jpg files. I just got the program last night, and I will try to put a "walkaround" Euphoria logo on my website later today. Check it out if you have a java enabled browser. Also, something called NetSketch by VegasFX is small, does some nice things with shading, text, and gif/bmp files, but costs $69. Regards, Irv http://www.mindspring.com/~mountains

It's illegal to have a freeware program to make/read GIF files. Unisys and IBM, the patent holders, charge expensive fees for letting shareware or commercial programs use GIF. I was nearly sued for using GIF in a freeware program, but I got wind of it just before and changed ALL of my freeware imagers to my own format. - Nate -----Original Message----- From: Irv <irv at ELLIJAY.COM> To: EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Date: July 30, 1998 11:08 AM Subject: Re: paint gif >Lewis Townsend wrote: >> >> Hello, >> Does anyone know of a shareware or freeware paint program that will save >> images in GIF format (or at least a format that I can use on my >> website)? Hello, Thank you Irv, and others that have responded to my question. >PaintShop pro is good, but way too big (14 megs) I was afraid of that, I will still get it when I have the chance but at the moment it's size makes that impossible. >For VRML (Yes! Java VRML) you might like RenderSoft >http://home.pacific.net.sg/~jupboo >It will fit on one disk and the price is right ($15) >It has 3-D modeling with adjustable light sources, and can save jpg >files. >I just got the program last night, and I will try to put a "walkaround" >Euphoria logo on my website later today. Check it out if you have a java >enabled browser. I would be using it at home where I have win'98 but not connected to the internet. I can still use the editor and save to jpg files can't I? (which I would save to disk, bring to work, and upload to my webpage) > >Also, something called NetSketch by VegasFX is small, does some nice >things with >shading, text, and gif/bmp files, but costs $69. I might try this too if there is a shareware version but I really like what I read about RenderSoft (I just downloaded it) and will try it first. I will have to wait until I at least have a way to ftp from my home computer so as to not need to cart things around on disks. The latter is the way I transfer alot of my stuff from work to home. Later: + + + Rev. Ferlin Scarborough - Centreville Alabama - USA

If you want to fit it on disks, use PatRat's splitter utility. I use it all the time. It's really great! - Nate -----Original Message----- From: Ferlin Scarborough <ferlin at SANDW.NET> To: EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Date: July 31, 1998 12:38 PM Subject: Re: paint gif >Lewis Townsend wrote: > >> I realy need it to be less than 1.44 mb so as to fit on a disk. the >> original d/l file is 7.134 mb and the decompressed application files >> alone are 12.747 mb.
