I didn't think it was possible to create custom syntax files for Gedit, am I
wrong?

I don't know for sure but I found some interesting files
under /usr/share/gtksourceview-2.0/language-specs/ directory
in Xubuntu Hardy beta. I thought it was possible.

I want to be prepared by the time Euphoria 4.0 arrives. blink

On ubuntu linux if you go to euphoria/include directory and load

If you have a linux system that uses gedit.

Just do a search for *.lang and you will find XML docs that describe

the SYNTAX for each language. C C++ etc.

You could probably use irv's KATE xml as a guide.

I think it's seeing the .e and using Eiffel. Comments, strings, basic structures
are very similar, so it looks pretty good at first glance, but once you get into
the nitty-gritty of the syntax highlighting, they are different.
