A subsequent > complete virus > scan showed no presence of it on my machine. > i did read this message, thinking it was safe. hmmm. i noticed an address in my email address book i deleted a couple of days ago. don't know how long it was there though. perf-... at boing.topica.com. did receive an email today from my isp about an email of my message to a jonathan moore. 1.i don't know him. 2. i didn't send to him 3. i did not read this message simply deleted it. i modified my address book months ago by changing the email addresses in it in a simply way. by adding an extra letter that i would have to remove after putting it in my outgoing email. a bit of a bother but it should give some protection to those addresses from programs that want to simply copy and use. because the address is fake , if anything used it from my computer then i would see an error email in my box. i also put a fake email in my address book so it would be used and then respond with an error message. hmm, if a virus has a signature to be detected, then programs they attach to should also have a signature to be found and attached to. if anti-virus programs would hide your apps signature so virus could not find them then they could stop a lot of spreading. but instead try to look for something after the fact , after it has done some damage/spreading around. but they make money doing it the current way. later rudy lotterywars
