Is it possible in win95 to get any idea of available resources, or used resources, before i use them all up and crash? At this moment, i am losing icon and button color, and before morning, i expect the buttons themselves will be gone. Help!! Kat

But, i really need to have Tiggr read my email to see if i am saying what i intended to say! I should have included the question: Is it possible to have the Eu program determine when the OS is going to crash due to lack of resources, so the Eu program can warm me and initiate a controlled shutdown if i don't respond? It's morning (actually, it's now afternoon, we had more Weather here that kept me awake till 5am today), and some applications still have nothing on their buttons, even after shutting down nearly every non-hidden application. This has gotten so bad before that even idle apps took minutes to redraw a screen, no application had menus or buttons, and shutting down an application would trigger an error warning. Problem is, with both Tiggr and in various learning curves, i have allowed her to open windows to display info, and between 5am when i got to bed and noon, she opened 45 windows with hundreds of urls for me to proofread before i allow the download of each page. Due to the volume of data, and obvious (to me) data duplication, i don't generally allow her to download entire pages for storage. This strains windows after a week, and sometimes after only a day of running. It's so bad that when i attempt to hilight a section of text to copy/paste it, all i can hilight is one or two lines. I need a way for a program to determine a point before this situation is reached, and do something about it. At the moment, system Monitor is saying i have 122megs of allocated memory, 50 kernal threads, and i am using 10% of cpu cycles. Yet i have no buttons if, in IE5, i click on File -> Save As. Rebooting solves the problem, continueing to run without a reboot makes it worse, desktop icons eventually turn into MS Write icons. Kat, hoping she explained it better this time..(?)
