I don't know exactly what you have tried, but are you working in a terminal? like an xterm, eterm, konsole and so on. if so, type: chmod a+x foo.exu to make it executable. The first line indicates the full path to the interpreter (try listing some other programs, like .xinitrc , they begin with a line like #! /bin/csh or #! /bin/bash ). If you use kde, you should register the mime type for the .ixu extension, so that it is associated in kfile or konqueror. Do you have any error message?
