1. [GEN] Concerning an "Installer"

Howdy y'all: Sorry again for an extremely late post. The subject of an "installer" for Euphoria may have already been beat into the dirt. Unfortunately, Angelfire.com mauled yesterday's digest, so I'm missing a day of posts, and that can be catastrophic around this camp. I'm currently working on an installation and setup system that uses database.e. It might be sufficient to provide an alternative to Euphoria's native installation system; however, it can't do a whole lot more. Especially where altering the registry is concerned - I about poop my pants when I mess with MY registry, much less somebody elses. However, it may be able to create those "shortcuts." I'm not definite on this, because, quite frankly, I ain't got a clue about how to do it, yet. That project will pretty much be on hold for another couple of weeks, as I've made other project commitments that I'm already behind on and which need to be fulfilled. As soon as aforementioned commitment is fulfilled, I'll get back on the installation program. (Yes, I'm being "cryptic" about this project. A couple people know, and it'll just be a surprise (Christmas) present for the rest of you. Hehe!) On the statement that "If they can't use the command line, then they can't use Euphoria ..." Let's use a little bit of redneck logic here: if you're wanna get wet, you gotta jump in the lake. I didn't just wake up and start typing code one day. The first day I tried to program, I got real good at pressing that orange reset button on the TRS-80. Now, I'm trying to learn C. Most of the time, I'm staring at the code really befuddled. But eventually, I'll get it. Point is, really green newbies are going to ask really green questions. They're going to ask and do, ask and do, until eventually they can do without asking. Just remember that none of us was born with a keyboard in our hands and mouse up our butts, okay? One last word about Euphoria's price. Yes, for some of us, $39 can be a bit spendy. It took me three months before I could send it off. Now I'm not living in abject poverty, but I'm not high-faluting well-to-do, either. The way I look at is simple: "Damn, for what man's put out, he deserves twice that amount!" As far as those who'd proclaim the glories of getting bootleg programs for next to nothing: yeah, that's real nifty until it turns out to be YOUR program people are bootlegging. Okay, Travis will shut up now and go to work. Happy Hunting, Travis Beaty Claude, Texas ----------------------------------------------- FREE!
