Hey Lynn, what's with the Blessed Be in your sig? And why isn't anyone complaining about it? C.K and some others used to put Bible verses in their sigs and there was a huge to-do. When you put a wiccan thing in your sig, not a peep. Does anyone see a double standard here? On a different note, I've put together a stack of files that conforms exactly to the ESL guidelines, but I'm not sure if anyone wants them or if I should distribute them, since D. says he's going to get the ESL project going soon. Personally, I don't have a problem with either but if there was such an uproar over over Bible quotes it would stand to reason that there should be something similar with Wiccan ones. If we decided to censor someone expressing their religious convictions why should someone else with different ones be allowed to express them? Although, there is no forum-wide ban on religious items AFAIK. The issue here may be that "Blessed Be" isn't universally recognized as a Wiccan thing. Well, it is but only for those who are familiar with Wicca. Also, there could be a slight difference in context. Are we talking whole quotes versus, say, "God bless everyone" (which would be analagous to "Blessed Be")? Also, the content of such quotes would matter too. Someone having a problem with Leviticus 20:13 is understandable but with something like Genesis 1:1 there should be no outstanding reason for complaint. This issue is before my time though so I don't know much about it nor do I really have much of an opinion on it. > On a different note, I've put together a stack of files that conforms exactly > to the ESL guidelines, but I'm not sure if anyone wants them or if I should > distribute them, since D. says he's going to get the ESL project going soon. Ooooh... What are they on? We'll gladly take them if we could use them. There might be an issue with the comments and stuff since we're finalizing them now and aren't on the site yet. If there is an issue we'll work on converting them over if need be.
