There aren't any known problems like that.
I use Red Hat 5.2, and others have been successful with 6.0.
I haven't heard from any 6.1 users.
If you are running in an xterm window,
it could be that the program is running correctly,
but the output disappears really fast, so you can't see it.
Try a program that waits for user input after it displays something.
Use getc(0) or something to wait. exu normally prompts you so
the screen won't be restored until you are ready, but for some
reason it might not recognize that this is necessary. Also,
try running it in a plain console, outside of X windows,
to see what happens.
