I don't think so.
First as an IBM Systems Engineer and now as a teacher, I have met many
people totally impermeable to the concept of programming, and even to any
discipline (math, physics, etc.) requiring unambiguous thought. And they
were (are) not schizophrenic but normal people as viewed by most peers.
BASIC language has been accused of distorting the mind for learning
structured languages, but I think some other disciplines such as law have
worse effects in this regard.
