Back online after an upgrade to Mandrake 10.1 would not recognize my
Alcatel SpeedTouch modem USB DSL modem. Wonder if SuSe 9.2 will be any
better - thinking of switching to SuSe for a while now since Novell
bought it.
Looking forward to Euphoria 2.5 - I thought for sure it would be out
by now. Hope Rob hasn't bitten off more than he can chew.

Novell sent me a copy of 9.1 which is absolutely fantastic.
It recognized all the odd hardware I have scrounged and stuck onto
this computer, and everything works. I don't have a dls modem, but
chances are SuSE would recognise yours.
The other difference that I can see is that while Mandrake's install
is so easy anyone can do it, SuSE's requires actually reading the
screens and choosing some options now and then.

Sometimes people read these notes so I'll make a couple
of off topic comments:
I hope I can compile the current GTK libraries - my Mandrake 10.1
system has been crashing on some compiles giving me a "cpp fails
sanity test" message.
Firefox 1.0PR seems has crashed several times when I tried to
post a message in this forum while bittorrent was uploading
the current Mandrake 10.1 community addition. The Firefox crash
agent sent reports to the development team. I don't think its
anything that RDS is responsible for.
