I had a path problem before, and I was getting "can't load dynamic library 
xxx". I no longer get that, but the message I quoted instead.
My own guess is that I don't have the right version of xmlparse.dll. Where am 
I supposed to find it? It's not listed on gtk.org, and it's not in the expat 
package.
I forgot to mention that, when running pango/query-modules.exe as suggested, I 
get

The gtk I have is 2.4.9 . I'm afraid I didn't even reach the stage where gtk 
version might be an issue :/
I have no C compiler at office; is my gmessage folder (where 1.0.7 was 
unzipped) of any use?
