Nice, but yesterday must have been unusually hazy, or perhaps digital cameras are more sensitive to UV light than film types. You could use a UV filter, maybe, to reduce the bluish cast. Not much you can do after the fact, however. Irv

Do they make UV filters for digital camera's? Never thought about that.. Thanks Irv

There are probably no UV filters for cameras that cost $40 or so (whether they are digital or not). But do you really think say for expensive Nikon or Leica cameras there are no UV filters (whether they are digital or not)? The lenses are not digital anyway. Regards, Juergen

It depends on what you want to do with the camera. Do you want a small camera, that you can easily carry with you in your pocket? Do you want a camera with high quality, big lenses? Do you also want to make little movies with the camera? How much MegaByte should the memory card have? What kind of memory card do you prefer, do you want to be able to use the card in both your camera and you PDA? Regarding so called "digital zoom": That's nothing than a marketing trick. Switch it off in your camera, and forget about it. If you actually need a "digital zoom", then do so afterwards on your PC with appropriate software, this will result in better quality than the "digital zoom" in the cameras. Here in Germany, there is the "Stiftung Warentest", that could be translated to something like "Foundation for testing consumers products". They are completely independent, and they test anything and everything. Their test results range from 1 ("very good") to 5 ("insufficient"). In 2004, they have tested more than 60 digital cameras (from cheap to expensive). The last time I downloded the test results, there were only 5 cameras rated "very good", which were: - Olympus E-1 + Zuiko Digital 14-54 mm (about 2000 EUR) - Olympus Camedia 8080 Wide Zoom (about 950 EUR) - Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-F828 !! (about 1000 EUR) - Nikon Coolpix 8700 (about 1100 EUR) - Olympus Camedia 5060 Wide Zoom (about 700 EUR) Of course, they had not tested all cameras that are available in Germany, and in other countries, there might be even other models available. Regards, Juergen
