1. Wiki: Has promise

Hello again, The wiki looks like it could work out very very nicely, but one thing i have to wonder: is there any chance this thing could one day just disappear? I'd hate to see that happen, but what are the chances that it might one day be all of a sudden gone, with no notice? Is there any chance it will be around for a long long time? We dont want to put in time writing articles if it's going to go away all of a sudden, but if it's going to stay for a long time it would be worth it. Ideas? Take care, Al E boa sorte com sua programacao Euphoria! My bumper sticker: "I brake for LED's" From "Black Knight": "I can live with losing the good fight, but i can not live without fighting it". "Well on second thought, maybe not."

Al, I share your concern. Your concern was the primary (though not only) reason that I originally proposed, publicly in the forum and privately to Rob, that the site be hosted on RDS controlled computers. I am hesitant to put work into a Wiki that does not have a secure future. At least one reasonable fix exists. Could Aku and Rob agree to have regular, even daily, backups of all files made to RDS controlled computers? I do mean all files, Wiki program and contributed text. If RDS received or got a daily backup of all files, then if the EUwiki site went out, Rob or someone else could have it up and running again in a short time. My hesitancy remains until such assurances are in place. I fully support a permanent Wiki but am hesitant to support (with my effort and time) a Wiki that might be ephemeral. By the way, I like the start that EUwiki has had. It shows promise. But without arrangements for a secure future, I have some concerns.
