Nope. I need BASS for the high-level ASPI functions to access the
CD-ROM. BASS does the CD Audio ripping. LAME does the MP3 encoding.
With ARP, its an on-the-fly two-step process. Audio is ripped (via
BASS) then compressed (via LAME) block-by-block.
Now, I came across FrogASPI (http://www.frogaspi.org/) but I don't
understand the low-level ASPI interface quite yet. BASS makes its
money by abstracting ASPI to a high-level interface.
