Hi, guys, Have you seen David's apple Py? Don't look at me like a school of stunned mullet, go and get it! Oh boy, won't the boss be really pissed off when he comes back from his job hunting expedition?! He will probably regret his unfortunate throw-away line about 'armchair language designers' for the rest of his life... My most sincere thanks go to Derek's noisy brigade. For greedily wrestling that obnoxious monster away from David, for freeing him to do something not just remotely useful again. jiri (having a lot of fun for a change)

I'm slowing working my way through creating a Eu compiler, but Win32Lib keeps getting in the way> My most sincere thanks go to Derek's noisy brigade. I suppose I should say thanks, but I'm not too sure if I haven't just been insulted

-- David: Why are you so concerned about creating py to have the same features as euphoria. If rob doesn't want to add features to euphoria then you can add them to py. Maybe the competion would force new features to be added to euphoria and eliminate the wishlist. Bernie

My preferred scenario is that Robert plays with Py and decides to incorporate some of the ideas into Euphoria. > My most sincere thanks go to Derek's noisy > brigade. My thanks as well - you guys have been doing a great job with Win32Lib. Although I'd use the phrase 'For letting David foist Win32Lib on them' instead of 'For greedily wrestling...' -- David Cuny

Just a bit of fun. And I will not rest until I see a smile on Judith's face as well. You are doing a great job, even if it is only for the misguided. jiri _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Although I've said it's a clone of Euphoria, I think you'll find it's got a radically different feel to it. It's interesting what a difference a few design decisions can make. Py shares a lot of features with Euphoria because: - Euphoria has a lot of great ideas - I like coding in Euphoria - Py is written in Euphoria - I want other Euphoria coders to try it > Maybe the competion would force new features > to be added to euphoria and eliminate the wishlist. You're never going to eliminate the wishlist; that's the nature of wishing. But I think that Py gives me a chance to see just how useful a feature is, and what sort of impact it has on a language. I don't think really think that Py offers 'competition' to Euphoria. If it did, I'd probably have to start up a 'Py' list, instead of talking about it here on the Euphoria forum. I can't imagine it becoming that wildly successful (but I'm open to pleasant suprises). That said, I don't think 'competition' gives Robert enough incentive to change Euphoria. On the other hand, people willing *pay* to for new features is probably a more compelling argument. -- David Cuny

I'm afraid I'm too old and narrow minded to work on more than one project at a time. Right now I'm working on a library for Linux, but I'll get to it. Bernie

I'll try to rework the namespace this weekend; there are a number of other changes that need to be done. Thanks to everyone for the bug reports! -- David Cuny
