Hi to all, I would very much appreciate some help from any of you, regarding a proje= ct I put up together with David Mosley, another Euphoria programmer. The project has begun as a program to read and process chess games in the so-called .PGN format. Some routines are already written by us, and also = a graphical interface, using Jiri Babor's fonts and gadgets. (They're reall= y great, Jiri). But my ambition goes further! Actually, my purpose is to build an Euphori= a Application that really can play chess! Is this possible, you are asking,= and I say 'I think it is'. Recently I found a Basic chess program called QChess or QuikChess. Of course, it is not going to beat Gary Kasparov, although, if we took hi= m of guard? Seriously, folks, it needs a lot of improving, but that's were I would li= ke to call in your help, especially in translating the Basic to Euphoria. If= anybody is interested, mail me privately, and I'll send you more details,= including the Qchess program. I've never really understood AI programming, which is what I imagine you are going to use for a chess game, especially the one you described. = That's probably because i never really had anyone to teach me; anything I= may have done in computer programming I have taught myself anyways. I probably won't be too good for developing code, but I would love to help you translate BASIC into Euphoria. Sounds like a fun project to me. Aft= er all, BASIC is the only other language I know besides Euphoria. Just mail= me that QChess game, and I'll have a look. Thanx. Regards, Bryan Watts
