Surprisingly

   <cid:part1.020208- at blueapples.org

(WITH the leading '<' and WITHOUT the trailing '>')!
worked for me.

It's beyond me how Firebird made sense of that stuff.

I compose all my e-mail in Thunderbird, which would probably be why 
Firebird understood it. I didn't even see the code of that link until 
you guy responded.
