I've got the one from the archives, 11MB 16/4/96. Today I searched, and downloaded one at 13MB, and one at 23MB; neither were noticeably better than the 8-year-old one. Neither mentioned XP (for instance) in any way, shape, or form. Does anyone have a decent link? Regards, Pete

You can download the Platform SDK for Windows XP SP2 at http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/platformsdk/sdkupdate/ It contains all the WIN32 API definitions (*.H files), samples in C and C# (even for programming for the Tablet PC), and a large collection of Help files that contain documentation about the following platforms: - Windows XP, SP1 & SP2 - Windows Server 2003 Family (+ 64-bit version) - Windows Me - Windows 2000 - Windows NT 4 & 3.51 - Windows 95/98 I don't know how large the download is, but installed it takes about 400MB. -- The Internet combines the excitement of typing with the reliability of anonymous hearsay. tommy online: http://users.telenet.be/tommycarlier tommy.blog: http://tommycarlier.blogspot.com

> I don't know how large the download is, but installed it takes about 400MB. The entire download is 10 cab files, 1 bat file and 1 extraction utility. Together they make up about 266 MB, which extracts to 1.4 GB. Personally, I'm burning the 266 MB download to a CD for future reference, but I guess someone could also burn the 1.4 GB to a DVD+R for easier installation. ~Greg

Ouch Since not everyone can afford that, and very few need the whole lot, anyone care to improve the existing RDS link to *ten-year-old* info? In hope, Pete

Well I started perusing throught the updated SDK that I downloaded and burned to a CD, and the help file is total crap. All it does is tell you *what* functions are available, not where they are or how to use them. It's just one big list! It's nothing like Win32.hlp at all. Don't waste the download. ~Greg

I think you are not looking in the right spot. The info on where to find a function is at the bottom of the description page. It works just like the MSDN website. >~Greg > ~[ WingZone ]~ http://wingzone.tripod.com/

If you don't want to download the whole library, you can still consult the documentation online: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ -- The Internet combines the excitement of typing with the reliability of anonymous hearsay. tommy online: http://users.telenet.be/tommycarlier tommy.blog: http://tommycarlier.blogspot.com
