1. Some Newbie-type questions

Hello all,

I am a newbie with Euphoria. My previous programming experience is in DOS
(Quickbasic, Powerbasic, and Layout) and some rather lengthy spaghetti code
in Atari basic back in the early 1980s. I also wrote a lengthy document
assembly program in WordPerfect Macro Command language that was used by my
employer for a couple of years.

I have been going through Mr. Gay's excellent tutorial, which I find to be
very thorough. I was hoping I would be able to use Euphoria to learn about
Windows programming. After I have been through the tutorial and played a
bit with the DOS version, how would I begin to learn about Windows
programming? I need to be able to write some batch-type applets.

I will have some other questions in a few further posts.

Regards,

Alan

Goto the archive on the Euphoria homepage
(http://members.aol.com/FilesEu/exestuff.htm) and get Win32Lib Tutorials by
Ad Rienks and Wolfgang Fritz, its near the top and easy to find. It run's
with David Cuny's Win32Lib, which can currently be found on the recent
contributions page (http://members.aol.com/FilesEu/contrib.htm), about half
to two-thirds of the way down. I believe David Cuny is planning to replace
Win32Lib with Llama (got to admit it's one hellova cool name), but I think
it will be compatible with Win32Lib (not quite sure tho').

Hope that helps
Rikki

Hi Rikki,

I was having problems with my mail program, and I am not sure if my last
little note got off, but I wanted to thank you, Rikki, for the links. I am
studying them and the other excellent tutorial I mentioned before, and I
shall be back with more questions, I am sure. So far, I am really
impressed with Euphoria.

Regards,

Alan
