To leave the Euphoria mailing list, send an e-mail message to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU The subject of your message doesn't matter, but the body of your message must be: SIGNOFF EUPHORIA Send it from the e-mail address that you used to subscribe. Alternatively, you can send the message body: SET EUPHORIA DIGESTS and you will only be sent one e-mail message per day, containing all of the messages for that day. Send the message: SET EUPHORIA NODIGESTS to resume normal operation. You can also view and post messages to the Euphoria list from the Web. Go to: http://members.aol.com/FilesEu/ and click on "most recent messages". Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://members.aol.com/FilesEu/

Send an email to: LISTSERV at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU Put in the body of the email: signoff euphoria You should then get a response acknowledging that you have been unsubscribed from the Euphoria mailing list. ---------- From: Kenneth Rhodes[SMTP:krhodes at CYBERSOUTH.COM] Sent: Monday, May 24, 1999 2:13 AM To: EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU Subject: Re: Can i get off this list? ----- Original Message ----- From: Hisham I Mohammad <hmohamma at BAYOU.UH.EDU> To: <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> Sent: Monday, May 24, 1999 4:48 AM Subject: Re: Can i get off this list? > I asked the same question and no one seems to care ! I tried to leave the list like a month (or more) ago, and I'm still here spying over your shoulders ;) The listserver simply doesn't recognizes my instructions (I knew this wasn't a good job for HAL). Rob, can you please send me again those alternative get-me-out-of-here solutions? Regards, Daniel Berstein daber at pair.com

Sad but true. I tried getting off the list before I went on vacation, but my e-mail address had changed. I still have an alias to my old account, so I still get e-mail. But the listserver didn't recognize my new name, and refused to let what it perceived as someone else remove me from the mailing list. I'll take care of it some day. BTW, has anyone tried compiling Peu for the Mac? Just checking again... -- David Cuny

Quick tip for anyone who can't stand downloading the Euphoria mailing list e-mails, and use Outlook Express 5, goto Tools menu, click Message Rules, and choose mail. Click the New button, and choose Where To contains people, in the Condition setter, and put <EUPHORIA at LISTSERV.MUOHIO.EDU> as people. Then select the action as Do not download off server, or Delete from Server, and your done. In older Outlook Express, I think the method is pretty similar, I just can't remember what exact menus etc to go to... Rikki

Daniel Berstein writes: > Rob, can you please send me again those > alternative get-me-out-of-here solutions? The normal procedure for getting off the mailing list is to send the: SIGNOFF EUPHORIA command in the body (not subject) of a message sent to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU You must send this message from the e-mail account that you used when you first subscribed. These signoff instructions are contained in EUPHOR21.ZIP, in web.doc and web.htm. They are also on the RDS Euphoria web site if you click "The Mailing List". You also get these instructions when you subscribe. Sometimes a service provider will change your e-mail address, while still allowing you to receive mail that's sent to the old address. In this case you won't be able to use the normal procedure above, and human intervention is required. The mailing list server will automatically tell you who to contact, but the instructions are rather lengthy. The bottom line is that you need to contact the list owner, John Kinne at Miami University. Tell him what your situation is, and give him the e-mail address that you want removed from the list. Allow a few days for him to get around to it. John's e-mail address is one or both of the following: KinneJD at MUOhio.Edu JdKinne at MiamiU.MUOhio.Edu Note, if your e-mail account is canceled, such that "bounce" messages are generated, the list server will automatically stop sending to that account after a few days. You can also tell LISTSERV how you want it to confirm the receipt of messages you send to the list..." I tried that method a few days ago, without success. I'll try Rob's next. Irv
