First, and this is most important, it's financially more beneficial for me to market my PHP skills than it is to market my EU skills. http://www.techport80.com was developed to demonstrate my PHP skills. Fortunately for me, I'm usually to busy to finish the site. :) There are technical reasons I don't use EU on any of my public web sites. First, when you run EU on Linux, you need to set at least 2 environment vars... EUDIR, and TERM. My hosting company doesn't allow me to set environment variables. Even if I wanted to avoid setting the EUDIR, the TERM variable is a must.=20 Finally, my hosting company will charge me more money monthly to install and configure EU. I'm just not willing to pay a monthly fee to demonstrate skills in a language that is currently flying below the radar. All that said, I've been a long time fan of EU. I've attempted to contribute in other ways. At one time I had a large section of my web site dedicated as a Euphoria portal. I wrote applications such as a code bank and a tutorial library for the community to add to and enjoy. On my site I had a JavaScript live chat client that we could have used without plug-ins such as Java or Flash. I've written/published some EU tutorials on subjects such as CGI, GTK, and EU getting started guide. I wrote a CGI content management system in EU that uses euSQLite for it's database and my own CGI lib. It supports themes / templates at the moment and renders quite quickly.=20 Most of that is gone now as there was 0 community interest at the time. The lack of visitors and contributors was very disappointing and discouraging. -- Ronald Weidner http://www.techport80.com PHP Software developer for hire.
