How about a wrapper converting Win32lib and winClass programs to wxWindows
programs.

Hi there Don,

Interesting idea, although at the moment i have no real need for
a cross platform lib because i only use Windows. I meant to get
around to installing a Linux distro but never seemed to get to
it for some reason. I tried a 'live' Linux and it was pretty cool,
but got tired of having to set everything up all over again when i
would boot up.

Perhaps i should try again with a full Lin version and try to make
at least the WinClass Lib cross platform. I wonder what it would
take to make a lib that depends on the usual Windows dll's work
on Linux too...

Take care,
Al

I haven't done it myself, but some live distros such as Knoppix allow you to
save settings to your HD or to a thumb drive.

Hi Al,

Ditto here I have ubuntu and played with the [live] version.
I have a partition on my drive for linux. But I never installed the full
version. One I don't need it. Two I'm afaid I might messup my windows stuff.
They say to be very careful installing windows and linux on the same computer.
I have a friend using lenux who would like to check out some of my stuff.
I'm writing a program to (so far) convert windows and buttons from windowslib to
wxWindows. I appears to work but I can't check it out under linux. I'll post
what I have on this board pretty soon. Maybe one of the more swifter progamers
could add all the controls to it.

Hi there,

It's not that i mind installing a full version, it's just that when
i went to the comp store to try to find a boxed version they didnt
sell them anymore, so i have to wonder why.

I think the version i was using (Mandrake Move) allowed storing
to USB drive but it required an empty drive if i rem right.
I have two USB jump drives but cant empty them just for that.
