1. Pixel bot examples?

now, being a fairly new user to Euphoria (and a huge fan of it already), I'm still learning all the little nuances and tricks that come with learning a new language. I decided I'd get a hold on the language by writing my own Pixel Bot. I have a working one, as it is, but I'd love to see examples of what other people are doing, as I'm the type of person who learns by seeing, and it's hard enough already to find Euphoria resources on the internet, not to mention examples of Pixel Bots. Speaking of Euphoria resources, does anyone have a good web site that could save me from having to ask any stupid questions on the mailing list? =) Thank you, Greg -- Greg Phillips i.shoot at rednecks.com http://nexus.hypermart.net -- Useless fact of the day: An average mattress contains 2 million house dust mites

Why dont you share you bot with the world ? Im not sure for which botengine it is meant. Is it for the engine available at RDS' site, you could just post it here. Otherwise here's the link to site of the other (much more complex) botmatch engine (it has its own mailing list, although not that active, it is esspecially ment for sharing bots )... http://www.hippy.freeserve.co.uk/pixelbot.htm The link to web-acces to its list-server should be there as well. I lost a lot of bot code in a horrible hard disk accident, so I'm still sore when it comes to this subject. However, I'll be posting most of the code I have to http://euphoric.webjump.com. Short Description: From initial location, head in a random compass direction until we hit a wall. Find shortest "turn distance" to wall and turn bot that way. Follow wall to end of bot maze. Simple, but fun. What was especially enjoyable was getting the bot down diagonal walls... I don't know if I have the most efficient code for this part, actually. Anyway, I'll be posting it tonight. If not, tomorrow. Later. ck Ralf Nieuwenhuijsen wrote: > > >now, being a fairly new user to Euphoria (and a huge fan of it already), > >I'm still learning all the little nuances and tricks that come with > >learning a new language. Thank you, everyone, for the help I've recieved so far, I appreciate it. Now, I have an idea for a website. A nice archive of written code, whether it be full source, or just parts, maybe some tutorials or general help with writing a bot.... what do you think? Good idea? Bad? Already been done? I just think it'd be nice to have a sort of central place, where people could download pixelbots to their hearts desire, or upload their creations for the world to see, and for other people to learn off of. Give me your feedback, thanks Greg -- Greg Phillips i.shoot at rednecks.com http://nexus.hypermart.net -- Useless fact of the day: An average mattress contains 2 million house dust mites

Hey, neksys! Good idea. :) I'm trying to do that already at the web site I provided. Any and all help is appreciated, and there will be a Pixel Bot area goin' up real soon now. Check out http://euphoric.webjump.com. Let me know what you think and what more needs to be done. Thanks. ck neksys wrote: > > Now, I have an idea for a website. Not really. Previousle we had Irv's Ftp + Archives, that was pretty nice, however it is gone now. I myself am also working on something, however im a bit lazy so I wrote a little program that turns directories, .url files, .zip's and other 'download-extension' files into a website using a template. You can see it in action at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~nieuwen However, im not very satisfied with the layout and the contents is still pretty basic, I only have a few libraries, etc. So, this is not the official 'promotion' or something, and it will be improved. (a hint.. go into the 'chambers' ) Have fun all, got to go to school again.. just ONE more weeek.. Ralf
