Hi from Brazil!

First of all I would like to congratulate Thomas Boutell for the awesome GD=

library!
I am using it to generate charts of data in my project and I would like to=

show them in the GUI.

As long as I know ( I would like very much to be corrected by someone here =
)
the only format we can
display using winlib is BMP. [is there another way????]

So I have to generate my image not in jpg gif nor png, I think I need BMP!

How can I do it using GD?

Thank you very much,

Luiz Felipe

2. Re: BMP in GD

Hi from Thailand :)

Win32Lib (and Windows) use BMP files as the 'native' format, but there are
plenty of other libraries around that can provide Jpeg, Gif and Png (among
others) support. Take a look at the FreeImage or the GDI+ libraries available in
the Archives.

Personally I use FreeImage, mainly because there are just too many functions in
GDI+ smile and FreeImage is very easy to use.

There were rumours recently that the FreeImage library was going to be updated
with more features, but we'll need to smile and say nice things about it a bit
more before that happens I guess ;)

Cheers,
Dave
