It was originally coined by the French: Jerry-rig. Jerry Lewis would
drive around France in a big rig, and it was called the Jerry-rig. How
it got warped into "jury-rig" is anyone's guess.

Jiri, I would've guessed that about you: That you're a rude, crude,
senile old man who has nothing better to do than insult people. I've
withstood your worthless, off-topic comments without saying a word, but
the proverbial straw has been dropped on the proverbial camel's back,
