Ok, I understand this is not a "newbie" asking for coding help, but I do
think my question was legit as far as this list is concerned...
Anybody here ever try Euphoria on any other OS that was DOS compatible?
I'm talking Dr-Dos, OS/2, Desqview, or even, ahem, Dosemu under Linux.
I want to write a bbs door game and wonder what will happen to ppl who
have their bbs'es on systems with these operating systems. Dr-Dos may
not be an issue, but there are alot of ppl who run bbs'es on OS/2 and
Desqview, and some who run Dos door games on their Linux systems using
Dosemu.
Thanks!
Kevin
PS Any response would work here, even "shut-up, you idiot". Geez, even
Matt Nuyabidness (whatever) gets replies sometimes...

I know that, a couple of version back, it would run in DOSEmu under Linux.
Every thing seem to work fine except graphics commands according to an
associate..
Hope this helps,

I would honestly like to reply to this (and now i feel like a one-line
fiend) but i have no expereince with alternate "dos" type programs, or
with dos itself for that matter (my dad raised me on a Mac 128). The
same (cept for the mac) may be true for other members of the listserv.
one of the kewl features of this listserv is that those who Don't Know,
let those who Do Know, answer. i guess itz up to our local gurus to
answer.
sorry for the snuff,

Well, I dont think many have tried Euphoria on different platforms.
Maybe, except for Robert. You should check the news section of RDS' page,
maybe something is there..

No need to take offense. It's just that out of the 230-odd people
on this list (and a couple who are not so odd), the chances that
more than a few would have actually used another os are small.

I haven't been able to get Euphoria to run under dosemu, it complains
about Causeway. I loaded DrDos for a test, and promptly deleted it,
as it won't work with Euphoria. Actually, you can run a program,
but when it exits, the computer locks up. Not much use for a one-shot
os, is there?

Hi Irv:
Just thought I'd mention that I am running Euphoria 2.0 on Dr-Dos 7.02 and
Windows 3.1(thanks to several members on this list pointing out to me that
in Dr -Dos,himem.sys must be used because,as you described,Dr-Dos "locks-up"
when you use emm386.exe memory manager(or at least that's what happens on my
system).
So you might try loading himem.sys instead of emm386.exe if you ever test
Euphoria and Dr-Dos together again.
I'm somewhat of a novice in Euphoria, but I think this is pretty much true.
Take care,
Bill Miller

Thanks,
Now, I wonder if anyone knows how to turn off the Causeway extender ? It
conflicts
with DosEmu under Linux. Otherwise, Euphoria might run on Linux.
