As someone who will most likely register Euphoria when 2.1 becomes stable (and then worry about how to fix my EE version :) ), I'd like to make a few suggestions for the *genuinely* skint[1] out there: Disclaimer: These are all IMHO. I'm sure Mr. Rob can come up with logical and reasonable reasons not to do this... 1) Leave the 2.0 PD edition permenently available from the RDS site. 2) Put the 1.5a (or earlier) *full-version* out for free. I realise that there may be some folk registered on these earlier versions, and this would be unfair. Maybe a free upgrade to 2.0 (or the next version above the version made free) for these people? 3) Put the above on a "Free Downloads" page with the new 2.1 PD-edition at the top of the page (Incentive 1 - Top notch product). List the pricing for the *full* 2.1 edition below the "Download 2.1" link. (Incentive 2 - Reasonable pricing!). Before the "_Download_Here_" links for the other versions, place large amounts of text showing what they're missing out on by downloading that particular version. (e.g. WIN32 / routine_id() et al. / Faster handling / etc. etc. ) (Incentive 3 - Missing out) Anyone think this is a good idea? Carl Not being entirely sure whether this word has made it across the 'pond'... [1] "skint" /a. colloq./ Having little money or total lack thereof. Without collateral, investment or finance. e.g. "Can you lend me some money?" "Sorry mate, I'm skint." Just think of all the 'newbie' questions which will arise, which the newsgroup participants solve, only to be then told ... that the solution didn't work, and even later, I'm using 1.5 ;-( Also, as the only difference between FreeWare / Registered is the debugging limit on source lines [ and bind ] ... anything you can do in the registered version can be done in the free version; you just have to make sure your code works as debugging gets thin on the ground after 300 lines
