Firstly, thanks Rob for creating the svn. I wonder whether currently there is a plan for the next features for *official* euphoria. It is usually called Roadmap, I think. Without the Roadmap, people will not contribute anything to the svn, for reasons such as: 1. His/her contributions may be disliked by others 2. No point in contributing if no one seems to want it 3. The contribution may conflict with some other contributions. Usually the Roadmap is in the "What's Next?" section of http://www.rapideuphoria.com/news.htm, but now there is no plan there. Firefox has plans for the 3.0 release (places etc) PHP and Perl have plans for the version 6 (unicode support etc). What about Eu? How about a voting of new functionalities, where Eu users can vote on every candidate functionalities whether the vote is FOR or AGAINST. Some of the requested functionalities can be viewed on http://euwiki.ayo.biz/Category:Requested_functionalities and you are free to add your own. Then Rob can make the final decision based on the votes or otherwise. How do you think?

I think we should use the Feature / Bug Tracking facility of SourceForge. I can enter all of my feature ideas into the system, as well as bugs that I know still exist. First I need to set up a bunch of categories in the SourceForge system. After that, anyone else can add their own feature requests and bug reports. Give me a few days for that. This way, if someone sees an idea on SourceForge that they wish to pursue, and they have the ability to do it, they can assign that feature (or bug) to themself, and start investigating it. They should tell the rest of us what they plan to do, in case we think it's a bad idea, or have some suggestions, etc. Voting would be useful to gauge how many people are interested in a given feature, but it would be very naive to think that if enough people vote for something it will be done. To get something done, you also need to interest a competent developer in it, and he/she has to find the time to do it. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com
