2. Re: Fact and Fiction

Beth,

Just a nit, and not meant to be insulting:

who is this "Mr. Bouzy" you refer to?

oh! After searching previous messages for "Bouzy", I find from posts *not*
in this thread, that he is...Chris, president at insight-concepts.com!

*Easily* possible I was the only one confused!

Good Morning,

This is directed more to Mr. Cuny, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Craig.

I am an employee here at Insight Concepts Inc., and my role here is Lead
Software Engineer. I will not bore you with my knowledge or what languages I
am experienced in, but I am going to give you and the forum a little history
lesson. I have dissected and cataloged every Win32/DOS program in the
Euphoria archive. I have gone over every piece of documentation available.
So before anyone wants to say I just got off the street and now want to make
comments, I do have some authority on what I am about to say.

Euphoria's downfall is not lack of namespace, structures, or modularity. Its
downfall is lack of contributions from its developer and its members.
Euphoria is capable in its present state to make commercial applications.
Mr. Bouzy has neglected to point out a few facts. Extreme10 is not our first
Euphoria application. Cloak 3.0 was our first Euphoria application. Cloak
3.0 was based on "Hide In Picture", which is an Encryption Steganography
application. Cloak 3.0 was so much of a success; it was reviewed in this
month Smart Computing Magazine:

http://smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles/2001/s1208/
40s08/40s08.asp&guid=dck3lwa0

Insight Concepts is the only company I know of that is using Euphoria in any
form or fashion, and that is including RDS. If that is not loyalty to a
language, I do not know what is. Anytime a third party promotes anything
more than the original developer, something is wrong. No one is going to
admit it, but Insight Concepts has taken Euphoria where none else has taken
it. Period!!!

Why are we using Euphoria? We chose to experiment with Euphoria for a few
reasons. Mainly code security. We have had a myriad of crackers try to crack
Cloak and all failed. We could write our programs in Basic or C/C++, but
Euphoria has potential you have not begun to tap into.

Most seasoned programmers are brilliant in their own right, but they lack
any concept of business. Most businessmen can sell you your own car, but
could not code worth squat. So in the end they both need each other. Mr.
Craig is a brilliant programmer, but he is not businessman. This is evident
with Euphoria's lack of popularity.

In my free time I read the complaints from programmers in the forum and most
are valid complaints, but also one sided. You have to stop looking at
Euphoria with your previous experience, and look at it with fresh eyes.

I have read some of the replies pointed towards Mr. Bouzy, and they are
simply ludicrous.
If Mr. Bouzy can take an ancient word game like HangMan, and promote it
where major corporations want to advertise, and make it appealing so adults
want to play it, then maybe you need to sit down and take a few notes.

I suggest before you criticize on Mr. Bouzy comments, take the time to
review its validity. You might not like his personality, or his methods, but
he knows what he is talking about. Sometimes the truth hurts, and you are
faulting him for speaking the truth.

Yours truly,

Beth Sautter
