Perhaps Windows is still associating .ex files with ex.exe on your non-existent or messed up F: drive. That's not an environment variable setting, that's something you have to set in Windows by choosing which program should handle the ".ex" extension. i.e. right-click on a .ex file, and "Open with ...", then choose ex.exe on your good E: drive. Is there any ex.err created? If not, and you specify crash_file("E:\\ex.err"), is there anything generated? Does task manager show you any ex.exe process hanging around minimised? Why can't you use exwc.exe? CChris
