1. Commercial apps for Euphoria
Hello everyone,
A few days back someone asked if any one had written any commercial
applications in Euphoria.
We have, its called Club Chat. It allows clubbers to send messages (SMS)
from their mobile phones to a large screen - a bit like an Internet chat
room. The messages "smooth scroll" up the screen leaving space for the
next message. On one side there are adverts (We have to make a living
somehow !)
The unit is basically a book-sized PC running M$-DOS 5.00 (No Keyboard
or mouse) and the main program written in Euphoria 2.2. We will move to
2.3 when it is released. I might add my AVI or FLI player in a while to
show animated adverts.
We chose DOS (M$ or DR) because on other projects, we have had up-times
of over a year and because the owners can switch the PC on and off with
care-free abandon - no "shutting down", blue screens or silly boxes
popping up.

We will add more to this page later. This will be available in the UK in
a week or two and if things work out, we will try other countries too.
In the mean time, this is what will be needed in the future (RDS ?) :-
1. Euphoria to continue to be as fast and stable as it always has been.
2. Add GOTO if you must, I could have used one - maybe.
3. Add decent port access.
4. Add decent coms - serial & USB.
5. Generic codecs (AVI, JPG, GIF etc) for DOS32, Win32 & Linux
6. Multi-threading - possible ??
