1. File extension suggestion

Just an idea that came to my mind: with all this impending multi-platform
support for Euphoria, perhaps we ought to modify the way we use extensions.
Here are the changes I think would make the most sense:

*.ex, *.e = Euphoria files which can be run on ANY platform without
modification
*.exd. *.ed = Euphoria files which specifically run under MS-DOS

This way, we would have dedicated extensions for both platform-specific and
platform-independent Euphoria programs. (I suppose, to be consistent, we'd
want EX.EXE to become EXD.EXE as well, so that the platform executable
corresponds to its platform-dependent file extension.)

Anyway, it's just a thought; perhaps this is more of a long-term future
idea, when Macintosh and/or BeOS ports are closer to reality.

I think this is a really good idea!

Well, that makes at least TWO of us...

Oh well, like I said before, this is probably a bit premature. Euphoria =
is
still primarily DOS/Windows based. The Linux port is coming along, but =
it's
still a beta. Once Euphoria is truly a multi-platform language, then =
perhaps
this idea will merit further consideration.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement! smile
