I need to export some data from an old great plains software package and make a csv file so I can import it into my EU software. Has anyone done that? Hints would be helpful

Great Plains uses Btrieve files. Anyone know anything about exporting from Btrieve?

Hi George, I haven't used Btrieve for about 10 years ... but I think I remember there being a "btrieve.exe" utility program which could unload data files? Possibly now there would be an ODBC driver as well? Regards, Ray Smith http://RaymondSmith.com

George: I read somewhere on the web that you can write reports and output them in text mode. Maybe you can also export a report in csv to a report.csv file. Bernie My files in archive: WMOTOR, XMOTOR, W32ENGIN, MIXEDLIB, EU_ENGIN, WIN32ERU, WIN32API Can be downloaded here: http://www.rapideuphoria.com/cgi-bin/asearch.exu?dos=on&win=on&lnx=on&gen=on&keywords=bernie+ryan

Yes, worst case I can setup a generic text only printer, print the report to a file and strip the info out of that. Hopefully the Btrieve.exe will do a more direct csv file with the data only.
