running the following code (after the example at the end of
'exception.txt'):

y = 1.7 -- this will allow the assignment but throw Type_Check_Failure

... I got this error message:

Juergen has indeed found a bug in exception.e -- I have sent him a corrected
copy and submitted the corrected file to Rob for the contributions page.
