1. Why don't we use the newsgroup???

I am just wondering why we don't use the newsgroup?? Because it is much
easier than going to the Listserv website or receiving 40 emails in your
mailbox, you can choose which ones you want to read.

I'm not a newsgroup expert by a long way ....

Do all newsgroups get picked up by all news servers?

I have a suspicion that they don't, meaning some people might not be able to
see any messages at all.

Have you tried using the maillist digest which packs all the messages up for
a day and sends one email. You still have to hunt through a long email. The
down side is it then becomes more difficult to reply to messages.

Mailing lists are also good becuase you don't need web/news access, just an
email account.
For the die hard Euphoria heads the mailling list is perfect, for the casually
interested a newsgroup is better.

I'm not either... :)

Nope. The University here blocks most *.binaries.* groups, any groups with
more than three x's, groups with anagrams of 'exs' and connotations
thereof, and groups with [virtually] no traffic.

alt.lang.euphoria applies to group 4 here, although one or two of my peers
commented (when it was available) that it had a bit of a risqué sounding
name. It certainly looks like it has a strange connotation en la langue
Français. ;)

While that's certainly true for some cases (especially our beloved
Euphoria), it doesn't work all the time. Before I converted to Eu, I was a
big QBasic[k] freak, and some of the BASIC newsgroups can be very
technical. And it doesn't stop there either, but I think I will... :)

PS Forgive me for the bad French. I was never very good at grammar. :)
