That's the problem: if everyone has different homebrew encryption, we won't be
able
to actually exchange data.  If we try to establish a public standard, we've
suddenly
given away our secrets (the walls have ears, you know =) ).  It's not a very
promising situation.

I recently read an article about extremely low level (read: physical
destruction)
data-loss techniques.  Email me privately if you want the URL.  They're designed
for
the hardcore paranoid, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.
