1. Not a flame
I just sent this privately to Everett, and would like to make it public:
Truly Everett, I am not flaming anyone.
I also believe that you know a great deal. To be honest I didn't read all
of the post I was writing about -- it was just a caution and certainly not
addressed to you (or anyone) in particular. I really believe that there is
a place for high-level discussions, but at the same time we have to be
cautious. It was something that I really feel that we should all
(including me) think about. I've recently come to the conclusion that in a
lot of lists people tend to imply that they know more than they do (and this
includes me). What is more, trying to be specific whenever possible helps
us to keep discussions accurate and not over-reaching our knowledge level.
I can see why you think I am flaming you, but I really am just making a
general remark that applies as much to me as you or anyone else...
In actuality I'm sorry if I have offended.
