The definition of "powerful" needs to be defined before anyone can 
answer the question.  
Personally, I think a better way to describe Euphoria is ...
"easy to learn,  easy to use and productive". 
 ... this is true as long as the program you are writing fits into a 
subset of projects.
If the program you are writing doesn't fit into the predefined subset
then all anyone can say is .. "it's possible to use Euphoria.".
