Thanks Ad,

I *think* I had found that page before, but it doesn't seem to have the
"valid & invalid combinations" info that Wolf found in the Win32.hlp, ie,
which styles can you combine together & which can't you.

In any event, I'm probably going to forget about trying to force the "child"
to look like a full window, & just example it as a tool to separate a main
window into different functional areas, like it was intended for, as Wolf
has pointed out.
