It gets worse - I once worked at a company whose assembler allowed variable and constant identifiers to contain spaces but when it assembled your code dropped all the spaces! Using a symbolic debugger was not fun. You would have called a routine "DOS STD DO IT" and the debugger displays and requires you to type "DOSSTDDOIT" - I feel the nightmares returning /Out of historic interest does anyone know of other languages which allow spaces and other "strange" characters in identifier names?
