1. Re: <no subject, newbie quesions about programming for Windows>

Yan,

The first step is to get & use David Cuny's "Win32Lib", which can be
downloaded from the RDS archives, at
http://www.rapideuphoria.com/exestuff.htm
or get a later version from an open source Win32Lib project at SourceForge,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32libex/

then get Judith Evans upgrade of the IDE (kind of "drag and drop"
programming for windows using Win32Lib as a base) which helps *A LOT*, at
http://www.rapideuphoria.com/contrib.htm

and Wolfgang Fritz and Ad Rienks have provided some Win32Lib Tutorials, also
at,
http://www.rapideuphoria.com/contrib.htm

and I made a kind of "gateway" to all the examples of Windows programming
provided with Win32Lib, currently called "WDemos", also at
http://www.rapideuphoria.com/contrib.htm

The Win32Lib will allow you to open windows and programmatically place
"controls" in it without having to use a hint of C.

Wolfgang and Ad's "Tutorial" will teach you to use Win32Lib, in good detail.

Judith Evans "Enhanced IDE" allows you to create Windows programs
essentially by just selecting from icons of various controls.

And my "Gateway to Win32Lib Examples" will allow you to look easily at all
the examples provided with Win32Lib, and copy useful sections of code out of
them & into your own programs, as well as easily jump to the basic Euphoria
Manual, the Win32Lib manual, a (small) FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
about Win32Lib & programming for Windows, and to the Tutorial. (requires
v0.50 of Win32Lib to run all the examples)

These should help get you started!
