I  would just like to confirm I have never had a speed problem, one of the
reasons I learned Euphoria was because it was so fast - I could just edit
the code and press [Esc],[e], and I'm up and running at full speed.

But,  do you realise how many C programmers there are out there? Or how many
really good libraries? (Euphoria has excellent libs too I know)  A Euphoria
to C translator would be a huge step towards putting Euphoria into the
mainstream, and increasing our resource base.

But as far as your challenge Mark,  I'm with you... there isn't much that
would require the extra speed, not that much would be gained anyway.

From a commercial point of view, I wonder how many of those C programmers
would start using Euphoria. Their productivity would skyrocket for many
tasks, and their perception would remain in tact - they could take comfort
in knowing that they could still translate the work into C "if they had to".
