Good detective work about something that has really started to get under a
lot of the contributers to this post! As for myself, a company I have very
close ties with is considering the benefits of Voice Recognition, and since
I am in charge of this project, I have told them that one of the companies
we are definitely NOT going to be doing business with, now or forever, is
Lernout & Hausie. The main reason is not the quality of their product
(which is certainly one of the best available for this type of thing), but
rather the apparent level of stability of certain individual EMPLOYEES. If
this is the caliber of the people who work for such a grand Belgium-based
company, then in my professional opinion there is far too much risk to use
any of their products in what we do. I will probably be contacting them
again this week to go over this problem with them, and I must say that this
should be of great concern to them. It is to me.
BTW, does someone want to venture the NAME of their immediate boss at this
company, or is this somehow a sticky privacy point to them personally? It
will sure speed things up on my part to find out what the what is going on.
