I've never been happy with courier or similar. Today I installed Apple's Monaco for my default editor fixed width font, and here's the result: http://www.wazu.jp/gallery/Monaco.gif I think it's clear and easy to read. No confusion between '0' and 'O' or between 'l' and '1'. And it just looks neat. -- Craig

You can find this and several other fonts at eg: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/12/6/11739/5249 I've previously had a problem reported with some versions of Monaco, marked up as a variable-width font with an average char width of 19 and a maximum width of 28, so Edita rejected it. However the one from the above link seems to work fine with Edita, just in case anyone wanted to try. Regards, Pete
