1. EUforum improvement suggestions

In the EUforum I would like to see: 1. more than one "previous page"; and, 2. when click on a subject in a post, instead of the action being to SEARCH for anything resembling that subject title, have it simply show the beginning post in the THREAD & all posts in that subject thread. Reasons: 1. sometimes posts are so fast & furious that they disappear too soon; 2. while SOMETIMES clicking on a post subject DOES yield the thread, it doesn't ALWAYS do so. Dan Moyer

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we will eventually add some more pages. Currently, you can see all the messages since the beginning of time, in reverse chronological order, by clicking the Search button while leaving the "keywords" and "posted by" fields blank: http://www.listfilter.com/cgi-bin/esearch.exu?fromMonth=6&fromYear=1&toMonth=1&toYear=C&postedBy=&keywords= As for message threads, the only way it can identify a thread is by searching for messages with (approximately) matching Subject lines within +/- one month of the message you start with. If you have found an example where this works badly, please let me know, and I'll try to refine the match() statement. Regards, Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software http://www.RapidEuphoria.com

It found way more topics, anything with two ss's together, I think, than just "SS". And even before Chris reminded me, but after I sent the suggestions, I remembered that this, contrary to its name, is actually a LIST, not a forum. Dan

Robert, Another topic that clicking on the subject in a post doesn't yield the thread is Chris Bensler's post pointed at by this url, about "$ shorthand side-effects" (was Digest...) http://www.listfilter.com/EUforum/m11876.html Maybe too long, as it doesn't even find itself :) Dan Moyer
