Hello Again, Thanks for all your great and quick responses to my first newbie question. Unfortunately, I need a second oneThe library manual under the function open() says: Some typical devices that you can open are: "CON" "AUX" "COM1" "COM2" "PRN" "NUL" So far so good, but what if one has a 2nd parallel port or more importantly USB ports or even Firewire? Is support for these devices built in or
do you need to code an include file for this? TIA, Jim Chapman

PRN is also lpt1: , a second printer is lpt2: and so on. USB devices do not use this entry. refer to this intel site; http://www.usb-by-example.com/Examples/ or http://www.lvr.com/usb.htm --- jc at cknet.net wrote: > > > > > Hello Again, > > Thanks for all your great and quick responses to my > first newbie question. > Unfortunately, I need a second one> > The library manual under the function open() says: > Some typical devices that you can open are: > > "CON" "AUX" "COM1" "COM2" "PRN" "NUL" > > So far so good, but what if one has a 2nd parallel > port or more importantly > USB ports or even Firewire?
