1. Veto (Was Re: Source changes)

Rob, do you want to have veto rights?
That means you become the arbitrator in the odd tiff...

And would you veto an attempt like adding "goto" or other "bugs"
that some wanted to have remain?

Basicly, how about a policy statement?

Alan

I don't know what sort of political system would be the best.
I would not want to have an absolute veto that could not
be overturned, if a large majority opposed me. I'm not even
sure if I should have any special power, other than maybe
the power to ensure that the political process is followed fairly.

If we have voting, it can't be anonymous voting like
in most countries. There would be too much risk of
"ballot box stuffing". Also, some people might deserve
more of a vote than others, and some people might care about
a particular issue more than others. Some people might understand
a particular issue far better than others etc.
Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
I'm sure others have ideas on this as well.

3. Re: Veto (Was Re: Source changes)

wouldn't it be useful to look at other more 'experienced' open source languages
like Perl/Python? what kind of political system do they have in terms of veto and
making decisions?
