1. Windows graphics speed question (unrelated)

I'm having some speed problems. Some things in Winblows are running pretty slow. When I close a window, you can see the animation of the window shrinking lagging. Or when I cut off the screen saver, it disappears slowly. Also, when I use certain menu options like opening files in programs, the stupid desktop icons disappear than reappear. The reason I'm asking is because some setting was changed with the display... my perverted little brother tried to save a Brittany Spears bitmap as the wallpaper, then tried to undo it before I saw it. The reason I knew he screwed up is because he restored the old wallpaper in tile mode! So, I went straight to display and looked at the internet explorer wallpaper. Ha, What a loser! Other than that, I don't think anything else was done. Who knows what he did when he tried to change it back. All I know is that it's slowing down Windows graphics. Thanks Derek Brown

Scan for virus unless the screensaver came from reliable source. THEN 1. First right click on your desktop ( at a spot where there are no icon ) 2. click on properties on menu 3. Set screen saver TAB and set to none ( You don't need screen savers ! ) 4. click on setting TAB 5. click on ADVANCED PROPERTY button ( bottom right ). 6. check make sure video adaptor is set for the correct DRIVER 7. click performance TAB make sure acceration is set properly 8. (when you say OK you will return to) SETTINGS TAB 9. Check that color pallette and desktop area and font size. Your PC will reboot some times depending on what you change. Bernie

Derek, I think what happened is that it activated your "active desktop" which on my machine eats memory...Turn that off and you might just get back your speed. Reguards: Monty in Oregon
